Confidentiality and data sharing

Connexions follows local education authority guidelines regarding data sharing. Connexions collects and holds data on young people, with their consent. To respect the confidentiality of young people, any personal or detailed information about a young person should be shared via a Connexions Referral Form (104Kb) which the young person has agreed.

It is crucial for Connexions to gather management information which enables them to monitor progress. To meet CSNU/DfES guidelines, this agreement will include a commitment by the school to provide Connexions (via the school Personal Adviser) with:

At year 11, we ask schools to help Connexions gather information about intended destinations of pupils, using our Year 11 Review Form

The data collected by Connexions enables us to produce detailed Destinations Analysis for all schools, which will help to inform the objectives for this year's Partnership Agreement with Connexions.
