About Us

What is a Personal Adviser?

Every young person in Suffolk has access to a Personal Adviser who will provide independent support and advice. They work in schools, colleges, youth centres, jobcentres and Connexions one-stop shops.

Personal Advisers are professionally trained in working with young people and may also have specialist areas of expertise such as careers advice. Personal Advisers are 'independent' so they can advocate on a young person's behalf. They will help link young people to other professionals and agencies and guide them through the process of getting further help or support.

The Youth & Connexions Service also employs Recruitment Advisers (RAs) who are specialists in helping young people get work or training, and Information Advisers, who work in one-stop shops providing sources of information for young people. Information is also available through our website www.thesource.me.uk and through our email information line enquiries@connexionssuffolk.org.uk.
